2Tarts of downtown New Braunfels is a great place for breakfast, and even a better place for desert or a snack. I always stop here after an evening or night showing at the Brauntex Theatre. Above is the raspberry tart. It's a tasty tart raspberry filing topped with a strudel crust. Ummmm good!
This place is open from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. on most days. But on Friday and Saturday nights, the place is hopping with customers until midnight!
Many ways to get to Downtown New Braunfels, but regardless of which way, you have to get to San Antonio Street and turn on Casteel Street. One way is from I-35 down Seguin Avenue to the Traffic Circle to the second San Antonio Street exit. A second is from TX-46 to Walnut Avenue, and left on San Antonio Street. The third is from FM 306 to Commons Street, a left on Union Street and a right on San Antonio. Or just GPS the place.
Key Lime Tart!
This, I choose to believe, is why they call the place 2Tarts: Here is a tart with a really tarty flavor. But that's the way key limes should taste. This has to be my favorite.
Strawberry Cream Pie:
Cream pie with a strawberry flavor, now that's really good. This was my girlfriend Jewell's favorite.
Blueberry-Lemon Tart:
Oh wow! This is my second favorite item here. About 40 years ago, some food genius discovered that blueberries and lemon are dynamite together. And the world has been stealing that idea ever since.
Bread Pudding:
Bread pudding is what bakers and restaurants used to do with day-old bread. Because the demand for this dish was so strong, there was not enough day-old to go around. Now it's made with fresh bread 😔.
Cherry Strudel Tart:
White Chocolate-Orange Tart:
I can't eat chocolate anymore so this is my new vice: white chocolate. The nice characteristic about white chocolate is that it goes so well with fruits such as orange or cranberries.
Raspberry-Lemon Tart:
Talk about too tart. These two tart flavors almost is too tart, but I love tart. This tart is for the tart lover.
Coffee:
Great coffee here. And they have sugar in the raw. Good coffee is better with sugar in the raw.
