Look at how much chorizo is in that egg dish. Taqueria Jalisco has some great Tex-Mex breakfasts and chorizo-n-egg is one of my favorite.
Taqueria Jalisco Restaurant is located on the service road for South Padre Island Drive in Flour Bluff between mainland Corpus Christi and North Padre Island. This is the third outlet of the small Corpus Christi chain. And this has to be the cleanest restaurant that I have ever visited!
Chicharron & Eggs:
This is a new favorite of mine, soften pork rinds cooked with scrambled eggs. Tex-Mex breakfasts come with refried beans and potatoes. I had the cheese added: "queso en todo" which means cheese on everything!
Barbacoa Plate:
Have to have onions with barbacoa. If I told you what barbacoa was then you wouldn't eat it. Beef cheek meat slowly cooked in the ground (or in a crock pot). Salt, onions, garlic. Oh so good.
Chorizo & Eggs:
Chorizo is a Mexican soft sausage that cooks up nicely with eggs. Of course, I had the cheese added. Also great combined with chorizo are refried beans.
Mickey Mouse Pancakes:
My girlfriend ordered the pancake breakfast and received two faces of Mickey Mouse. I bet she hasn't had a Mickey Mouse pancake in nearly 65 years.
Western Omelet:
Yes, they do make omelets here. Note the ingredients are sautéed sparely and added to the top of the egg.
The Potato!
What sets this place apart from the other Tex-Mex restaurants are their potatoes. The potatoes are browned and hence more tasty. Yes, I did have cheese added.
