Breakfast Buffet at Hotel Galvez, Galveston Island
Loads of bacon. Bacon! Of course, this is a buffet. Sorry about the photo. I have a new phone and the flash was on. I made some adjustments after the fact.
Buffet with an Omelet Chef:
Here is the omelet chef. She will fix it anyway you like. Sausage, mushrooms, and onions is what I like. And don't forget the cheese! I love a buffet with an omelet chef instead of just a big pan of scrambled eggs, though this place had that as well.
Hotel Galvez has a daily breakfast buffet during the summer months. It also has a great Sunday brunch. But that will be another posting. For more information, go to http://www.hotelgalvez.com.
Plate #1:
Here was my first plate. Bacon, croissants with butter, and my omelet. Note there are no pics of fruit or cereal. Not that they didn't have any, just no photos of them.
Omelet Station:
Look at all the stuff at the omelet station. Not shown are cheese, tomatoes, and onions. I'm sure there are some other ingredients missing.
French Toast:
Nice French toast. I love French toast with butter. The nice thing about a swanky hotel restaurant is that you get real butter and not margarine in a peel-top tub.
Sausage:
Sausage, loads of sausage. I have to have sausage with my French toast, and this sausage has a slight cayenne taste to it.
Plate #2:
Here is what's left of my second plate: sausage and French toast. Add butter and syrup. Ummm, good.
Wedge Potatoes:
The potato wedges were popular. It was the only near empty pan on the buffet. My guess was that the potato wedges were pan fried and not deep fried.
